Just a follow-up to the Nottingham story....The rink held about 4500 people packed to rafters and they got more excited about the blood than anything else, which on this particular evening I was the centre of their applause. There was no partition between the players bench and the fans so basically we'd have the local characters sitting right beside us, when I came to the bench after getting a crosscheck to the mouth, well needless to say there was alot of blood as you could basically see my teeth thru the cut. We had an equipment guy who was a security guy who posed as a stitchman and to the bench I go bleeding all over anyone close to me getting a dozen stiches right beside some character smoking a cig. and drawing on a pint and getting bled all over....I think I got player of the game just for losing the most blood....
The Canucks are on a great tear this year, on pace to win the Presidents Cup which will be a great feat for the team for sure. The only problem that I see with that is the Hawks or Sharks look like if they get in it will be just barely which could bring them in 8th....so first round could be the Hawks vs. the Canucks and we all know how that story has played out....
Last ten Presidents Cup winners and how they ended...
2000-01 Colorado Wins Presidents and Stanley Cup
2001-2002 Detroit Wins Presidents and Stanley Cup
2002-03 Ottawa wins Presidents and loses in Semis
2003-04 Detroit wins Presidents and loses in 2nd Rd.
2004-05 Cancelled to many greedy bastards
2005-06 Detroit wins Presidents and loses first rd to Edmonton
2006-07 Buffalo wins Presidents and loses in semis
2007-08 Detriot wins Presidents and Stanley Cup
2008-09 San Jose wins Presidents and loses first rd to Anahiem
2009-10 Washington wins Presidents and loses first rd. to Montreal
As you can see in the last ten yrs 3 President Cup winners have went on to win the Cup and 3 winners have gone on to lose in the first round.....

"You go to the box. Two minutes by yourself and... you feel shame. You know... and then you get free."
Me and my brother played in the same junior league never on the same team but played against each other for a few years, we had are battles but the one thing we can always look back on is there are no other brothers that come even close to our penality minute record...Marks 870 and my 562 an amazing 1432 pim. between us.
On the ice you are either the hunted or the hunter and your head better be on a swivle at all times cause there are guys out there who are looking to give you a first class ride into nevernever land. Ever wonder why hockey players never shake hands after every game? Its pretty hard to do that when within the previous three hours someone from the other team was trying to remove your spline from your body...thats not personal? Its always personal, someone runs you from behind into the boards, oops sorry my bad...ya right...your bad alrite but its my teeth getting picked up off the ice.
Here are some of the all-time penalty leaders in our game.
Dennis Bonvie, 1993-2008, NHL-AHL, 4,804;
2. Kevin Evans, 1985-2000, IHL-CHL-ECHL-WPHL-NHL, 4,419; x-
3. Jason Clarke, 1993-2008, CoHL-ECHL-WPHL-CHL-LNAH, 4,174;
4. Dave (Tiger) Williams, 1974-1988, NHL-AHL-CHL, 4,172;
5. Tie Domi, 1989-2006, NHL-AHL, 4,019;
6. Rob Ray, 1988-2004, NHL-AHL, 4,014;
7. Trevor Senn, 1991-2005, ECHL-IHL-AHL-UHL, 3,993; x-
8. Roger Maxwell, 1996-2008, ECHL-IHL-AHL-WPHL-CHL-WCHL-LNAH, 3,960;
9. Tim Hunter, 1980-1997, CHL-AHL-NHL, 3,887;
10. John Brophy, 1950-1973, EHL/IHL, 3,839

You take the van, I'll keep the dog.
Acutally it was a piece of lamb not a dog. I played a game in Nottingham England and was fortunate enough to win player of the match and the prize was about 5lbs of lamb, which came in handy as earlier in the game i got a crosscheck across the top of my chin in which I ended up with about dozen stitches to repair.
The Juniors showed great composure in the game against the Americans, a complete reversal of the game against the Swiss, Im sure it had to do with being an underdog opposed to the favourite, hopefully the were able to bottle the formula and can bring the same game against the Russians that they brought to Americans and not the game they brought to the Swiss.
Always interested when Maqiure says its the best hockey out there, we all know its good but obviously its not the best, its not even the best junior players in the world, check you who"s playing in the bigs that would make this tourney even better.
Kyle Clifford....LA....2 goals 4assist 58pim
Matt Duchene....COl....15goals 24assist...21 pims
Taylor Hall...Edm.....12goals 10assist 12pim.
Evander Kane...Atl....13 goals 13 assist 42pim.
Tyler Seguin...Bos....7goals 13assist 8pim
Jeff Skinner....Car. 11goals 17 assist 12pim
Ryan O Rielly...Col....4goals 10 assist 8pims,
Wow when you look at the guys who were available by age to play on this team its mind boggling. Once again just shows the depth of the sport in this country.
Lets hope they bring there composure to the gold medal game and keep Canada firmly perched as the number one hockey country in the world.
